The sensor consists of two LED diods and a green light sensor. Com- bined they measure the blood flow in the veins on the wrist, which changes when the heart beats. The sensors register the reflected light from the skin then calculate the changes of light density and finally converts it to a heart rate monitoration. Therefore, external light source can affect the monitoring of the heart rate and convert it to a wrong result. Hence, the tracker must not be loose around the wrist. Also, it may mis-record heart rates by a significant margin in follow- ing two circumstances: sweating wrist or heavy hand/arm hairs.
